The Canadian Propane Gas Association awarded two scholarships this year, funded by the International Association of Young Gassers, to: Emily Bestwick, whose family owns Burden Propane in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, and Jessica Beltz, whose father works for Federated Co-op Propane in Landmark, MB. The girls recorded a very short thank you video that I wanted to share.
Young Gassers board member, Darren Eavis (pictured above) was on hand this year at the CPA’s 2018 Awards Ceremony to make the presentation and update CPA members on the Young Gassers outreach programs in Canada. Congratulations ladies and good luck in your studies.

We are very pleased to announce the opening of the National Museum of Industrial History a Smithsonian affiliate, last weekend, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Along with the opening is the unveiling of the Proane Exhibit to the general public. Two decades in the making, a project of this significance could have only been possible with the support of many dedicated individuals and trade association coming together and overcoming obstacles to make this dream a reality.
On Saturday, September 10th, we’d like to invite the industry to, once again, come together. This time in celebration of this major milestone. The Young Gassers will be hosting an event to introduce the exhibit to our industry from 5-8 pm on September 10th at the museum. The evening will include beverages, light hors d’oeuvres, guided tours, and guest speakers. If you’d like to see some photos of the opening, please visit our FaceBook page. Thank you very much, and I look forward to seeing many of you in Bethlehem. RSVP Young Gassers Nashville Reception10/30/2015 Saturday April 9, 2016

NMIH Update7/13/2015 ![]() A delegation of Young Gassers is heading for Bethlehem, PA next month for a meeting with the new Executive Director of the National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH), Amy Hollander, regarding propane's contribution to this American Industrial Experience. Just to bring everyone up to speed on the status of this showcase, the NMIH is a Smithsonian Affiliate that is scheduled to open mid-2016. Dedicated members of our industry have been trying to bring an exhibit to fruition at this facility since 2000. To date, we've invested $150,000 into this effort, but for various reasons, the museum hasn't opened and this project has been virtulally stalled for the past 3 years. Fast forward to last April when the Ancient Gassers and the Young Gassers merged our two Associations. Along with this merger came a financial obligation of $50,000 to support this museum, once it was determined that it would, in fact, open; and, the propane exhibit would be a key element in the overall floor-plan/presentation. Coincidentally, the museum seems to be getting back on track, just as our merger came about, and now it falls upon us to Shepard this project along from what is essentially ground zero. We have the money in the bank, and are prepared to make good on our obligation, provided we see good, positive, momentum on the part of NMIH. A decade is a long time to realize a goal. But, it finally seems within reach. We'll keep you posted. Funds allocated to this project (in the bank) total in excess of $300,000. Do you think this is a wise use of our resources? I'd be very interested in your opinion. Young Gassers & Ancient Gassers Merge4/11/2011 On Saturday April 11, 2015 a little piece of the propane industry was laid to rest in a small meeting room at the Georgia World Congress Center. A meeting of an organization known to many of us in the industry as the Ancient Gassers took place for the sole purpose of dissolving their Association and merging their membership and assets with the International Association of Young Gassers.
I'll be writing at length about what this merger means to our members at a later date, but I just wanted to share this news with you because it is going to have a significant impact on what we as an Association are in a position to do moving forward. Please follow us on FaceBook and LinkedIn for the latest news and conversation. 2014 Fantasy Football Champs4/11/2011 Congratulations to our 2014 Fantasy Football Champions! Coach Fred Summers and the 11-5 Fast & Furious won the 2014 contest in League 1 against Coach Julie Johnson and her 9-7 LA Gold. In League 2 Coach Mark Zimora and his 12-4 Cleveland Rocks defeated Coach Dan Hermansen and his 11-5 KC Monkey Stompers for the championship. Both teams received their trophy at our reception in Atlanta, Sunday April 12, 2015.
Thank you to everyone who participated this year and we look forward to kicking this off all over again next fall. If you’re interested in playing drop us a note. Leagues start forming in September. Vapor SpaceArchives
